Peter de Savary

Peter de Savary is a well known international entrepreneurial businessman, who, since the age of 16, has applied his skills in many areas, including the petroleum industry, shipping, shipyards, property, import/export and the club and hospitality industry amongst others. His activities have spanned three continents.

He founded the worldwide St. James Clubs (London, Paris, Los Angeles, New York and Antigua) and the Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle (Scotland, venue for Madonna’s wedding). His successes also include Glenborrodale Castle (Scotland), Stapleford Park (England), Cherokee Plantation (South Carolina), Carnegie Abbey (Newport, Rhode Island), Bovey Castle (England) and the Abaco Club (Bahamas). These projects have been highly acclaimed and de Savary’s further experience extends from the construction of a new 5 star hotel in Egypt to the operation of a 500 room hotel in the UK.

A well known philanthropist, he particularly helps underprivileged and handicapped children and is a patron and board member of the British Teenage Cancer Trust, a Governor of the Newport Health Care Corporation and supports generously numerous charities.

In 2012 Peter de Savary was appointed by the Government of Grenada as an International Ambassador with full diplomatic status and responsibilities for inward investment. As the major foreign private investor in Grenada he energetically extols, promotes and facilitates the many opportunities available for qualified foreign investors.

Peter de Savary first visited the island of Grenada in 1952 and for the past 36 years has been actively engaged in business throughout the Caribbean region. For the past 7 years, as a citizen of Grenada, he has resided in Grenada where he maintains family homes and an active business presence.
